The world runs at a fast pace and relies heavily on continuously producing outcomes and often pushing ourselves to our capacity limits. We’re encouraged to learn more, to earn more and to generate more success. The demands of living in our society today also places a pressure on our ability to produce and provide, often in a way that exceeds our limits and competencies. At the end of the day we can only handle so much, we can only handle what we know how to handle and when we overtake our limit and approach navigating something beyond our competency with pressure over our heads, it leads to stress. An unbearable amount of stress that leads to burnout, fatigue, disorientation, lack of motivation, reduced focus and challenges with maintaining our health.
Learning how to rest is how you begin the journey of restoring the mind & body against the never ending challenges being thrown our way. What the body knows best, is what it does best. If the body knows how to push, take in and contemplate, that’s what it’ll do. It’ll continue to push, take and contemplate, leaving our minds full, busy and restless. Restorative Yoga is about giving the body space to restore. Through the understanding of how to rest and the use of the techniques of restorative yoga, you can learn how to slow down, clarify your actions and produce stronger outcomes without having to clean up the messes around them.
